THE National Farmers’ Federation and Woolworths on Tuesday opened applications for the second round of the AgriEmpower Scholarship Program.

The program is open to people aged 25-40 with a proven commitment to advancing the agriculture industry.

The scholarship will guide ambitious workers to foster networks and innovate their ideas in the agriculture sector.

Each scholarship is worth $20,000.

Bridgitte Brooks was one of seven recipients of the AgriEmpower Scholarship’s first round and is using her bursary to elevate Australian wool in the fashion industry.

“Being part of the AgriEmpower program has opened up so many networks and opportunities for me since September,” she said.

“It’s helping me shine a light on wool in the Australian fashion space, and I’m excited about what I’ll be able to achieve, both professionally and personally, through this experience.

“I’d encourage everyone with a dream for our industry to apply.”

National Farmers’ Federation president Hamish McIntyre said people right along the ag supply chain were welcome to apply.

“The AgriEmpower Scholarship is an amazing opportunity to make a real difference, on both a personal and an industry-level,” he said.

“The partnership between NFF and Woolworths is providing a huge advantage for passionate ag advocates to further develop their ideas.”

Woolworths Retail, managing director, Annette Karantoni, said the level of talent and commitment to innovation in Australian agriculture was inspiring.

“Woolworths is proud to be supporting a new group of AgriEmpower Scholarship applicants,” she said.

“We all rely on a strong ag industry to deliver the very best Australian food to our customers, and that needs to involve innovative, bold and diverse ideas and leaders who understand the sector and are strongly committed to its future.

“We’ve seen the first group of scholarship winners already achieve great things with AgriEmpower’s support and I’m really excited to see this next group make a difference in promoting the industry’s growth and success.”

Scholarship recipients have 18 months to spend their funds on investments like courses, conferences, professional development, and overseas travel for the purpose of gaining new ag-related skills.

Participants will also attend events and workshops run by Woolworths and NFF.

Applications close Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
