A Moree Christmas: The adventures of baby Ron and Andres

TWAS the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse . . .

Well, all except little Ron and Andres at 3 Tawarri Street.

On a warm December evening in Moree, something truly magical was happening, writes Fred, one of Santa’s little helpers, who took time out to pen this report after discovering some Christmas Eve magic.

The lights on the house were twinkling, and the air was filled with excitement as Richard McGrady, better known as Baby Ron, and his little brother Andres, were busy preparing for the most festive Christmas ever.

Their front yard was a spectacular sight to behold, thanks to Richard’s dazzling Christmas display.

This time of year was especially exciting for Richard – he graduated from Kiah Preschool!

The proud smile on his face could be seen from miles away, and it was clear he was thrilled to be starting the next chapter of his journey.

At just five years old, Richard had become an expert on all things dinosaurs.

From the towering T-Rex to the mighty triceratops, Richard could identify every dinosaur by sight.

In the front yard, a magnificent inflatable dinosaur stands proudly, its giant head peeking over the fence.

Richard’s face lights up as he gazes at his favourite inflatable, and he couldn’t wait to tell everyone which dinosaur it was.

His curiosity and wonder is contagious as he eagerly shows his family every part of the display.

But there wasn’t just one thing lighting up the night.

As Baby Ron walked proudly past the large inflatable Christmas tree with shimmering lights, he pointed at the Nutcracker Santa and exclaimed: “That’s my favourite!”

The Nutcracker, with his bright red suit and welcoming smile, seemed to agree, bringing a sense of joy to all who passed by.

Andres, just two years old, was right beside him, bouncing around with excitement.

Though still young, Andres was ready to begin his own adventure at pre-school in 2025, when he turns three on January 26.

His parents, Richard and Bianca, can’t wait to watch him grow and learn just like his big brother.

But Andres wasn’t only fascinated by the stars above.

His true passion is the ocean. Wherever he goes, Andres carries his treasured collection of sea creature toys with him.

From the mighty great white shark to the colourful clownfish, Andres can name them all.

He has an incredible ability to recognise and name dozens of sea creatures by sight.

“Narwhal! Whale! Turtle! Jellyfish!” he says proudly and his eyes light up as he holds each toy up to show his family.

His fascination with these creatures is endless, and he makes sure to bring them everywhere he goes – his sea creatures are his loyal companions on every adventure.

Richard and Andres share a special bond, and they both share a deep love for spreading joy.

Richard proudly says: “Me and Andres like to help make everyone be happy for Christmas.”

And it is true – both beam with joy and excitement as they help their family decorate, hang lights, and make the season bright.

Their front yard is filled with festive cheer, thanks to the love and effort they put in, making everything perfect.

Their inflatable dinosaur, the bright Christmas tree, and the Nutcracker Santa all light up the night, but it is Richard and Andres’ joyful spirits that truly make the holiday special.

As the night wears on, the family gathers around, marvelling at the beautiful lights and the love that fills the air.

With their magical Christmas display, Richard and Andres remind everyone of the true meaning of the season – to spread joy, love, and happiness to all.

Their curiosity, wonder, and excitement are contagious, and their futures are bright with endless possibilities.

This is just the beginning of many more magical Christmases to come.

For now, Richard and Andres simply love the joy of being together, knowing that no matter where their adventures lead, they will always carry a little bit of magic with them.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Thank-you, Fred 😊
