THE countdown to the Armidale region’s chilliest music festival has officially begun – and to kick off festivities, the Big Chill Festival is throwing an unmissable free launch party at the Armidale Showground on Friday, May 16.

Live music, local food and brews, and a vibe that just won’t quit is what you can expect at this free event.

The pre-festival warm up is bringing high-energy performances and infectious indie-pop anthems, headlined by Marvell bringing its signature sound to the Big Chill stage.

Joining Marvell in the entertainment line-up is Goldheist, who is quickly becoming one of the most exciting names in the Australian music scene, and hailing from the heart of the New England region, local legend Sam Buckley is bringing a unique mix of folk and indie music that resonates with local and international audiences alike.

Armidale Regional Council Mayor Sam Coupland said the launch party is an appetiser to the main event.

“We’re kicking off the festival in true Big Chill style, with a laid-back warm-up event full of great local food, music, and vibes. It’s the perfect way to bring the community together before the big day and give them a taste of what’s to come,” Cr Coupland said.

“Whether you’re a long-time festival-goer or a newcomer to the Big Chill vibe, this event is the perfect chance to immerse yourself in the region’s vibrant culture.”

Don’t miss out on another unforgettable Big Chill experience and join in on the free festivities at Armidale Showground from 4pm to 8pm.

Bring friends, family, and good vibes.

Tickets for the Big Chill Festival are on sale now, and with such an exciting line-up and program of events, they’re sure to sell out fast.
