Baan Baa’s Daisy Lamb raising money for Camp Quality and kids with cancer

A couple of years ago, Daisy Lamb walked off the set of Farmer Wants a Wife and walked – well, ran – into the arms of Baan Baa grazier Todd Melbourne.

Daisy is walking again, but this time for charity.

Daisy, a former gym manager in Townsville, made national headlines nearly two years ago when hooking up with cattle farmer Todd Melbourne on national reality series, Farmer Wants a Wife.

Daisy now works at Whitehaven’s open-cut Tarrawonga mine north-east of Boggabri as a dump truck operator while Todd, a third-generation beef farmer, manages the family property.

And it was at work that Daisy decided to join Camp Quality’s Big Walk for Little Kids, to help raise money for kids with cancer.

September is childhood cancer awareness month, and Daisy will walk 240 kilometres over several days to raise money.

“My main motivation to participate in the walk is largely because of three coworkers,” Daisy said.

“Two coworkers have grand-daughters who were recently diagnosed with cancer, and another sadly lost a young family member to cancer a few weeks ago.

“My goal is 240 kilometres, which will be accumulated over the 30 days in September – around eight kilometres a day.

Daisy Lamb and Todd Melbourne are a community-focused couple who made headlines a couple of years ago when winning Farmer Wants a Wife. They are ambassadors for the 2025 Flanno for a Farmer campaign, and Daisy is currently raising money for Camp Quality’s Big Walk for Little Kids.

“This is a combination of treadmill walks, outdoor trail-walking and running.

“Camp Quality and the Big Walk for Little Kids campaign is a fantastic cause, and something I’m proud to stand behind,” she said.

Todd and Daisy are also ambassadors for the 2025 Flanno for a Farmer campaign, an initiative supporting Australian farmers through hardship by encouraging people to wear flannel shirts and raise funds for the Farm Angels charity, with Daisy planning to join other fundraisers in the coming weeks.

“The Narrabri, Baan Baa and Boggabri communities are wonderful, and one thing I’ve noticed is that everyone loves getting behind one another, especially for great causes such as Big Walk for Little Kids,” Daisy said.

Daisy, who celebrates her 30th birthday today, has also registered to take part in Oceans to Outback and will also have her head shaved for charity.

Oceans to Outback is an annual, month-long fitness challenge in October organised by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Participants walk, run, or cycle to raise funds and awareness for the service’s life-saving care in remote and rural Australia.

“I’ll participate in the Oceans to Outback, where I’ll run 84 kilometres during the month of October to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service,” Daisy said.

“I will also have my head shaved on September 24 at Clipjoint Hairdressers in Narrabri. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while and, with my 30th birthday this week, I thought why not do it now,” she smiled.

Daisy has set a $5000 goal for the Big Walk for Little Kids fundraiser and already has walked nearly 100 kilometres of her 240-kilometre target.

“Every dollar I raise will fund Camp Quality’s services and programs to help little kids who are dealing with their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a brother, sister, mum or dad,” Daisy said.
