AS diaries fill with festive cheer and celebrations, the fully refurbished Bank Art Museum Moree is asking the public to take part in a survey to share thoughts, comments and ideas for the future of BAMM.
Director Rosie Dennis said BAMM was seeking commentary over the Christmas period.
“I hope people can find a spare 10 minutes to answer a few questions as opinions are important,” Ms Dennis said.
All survey responders will enter a draw to win a BAMM prize which includes an annual BAMM
membership, a behind-the-scenes tour of the BAMM collection with the director, a BAMM beer
cooler, BAMM apron and a Ken Done tea-towel.
A link to the survey is below.
“BAMM will be open over the summer holidays so please visit with friends and family,” Ms Dennis said.
“The gallery will be filled with incredible works from our collection, including Tracey Moffatt’s Up In The Sky series and Michael Riley’s A Common Place: Portraits of Moree Murries from Thursday, December 12.”
BAMM, in partnership with Euraba Aboriginal Paper Corporation and Yaama Ganu Gallery, will also present Looking Back, Looking Forward, a unique exhibition of pulp paintings by the Euraba artists of Boggabilla, New South Wales, a project Delivered with the support of Arts North West and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
In recent months, BAMM has undergone significant upgrades,” Ms Dennis said.
“BAMM has recently re-opened its doors after being refurbished. As part of the refurbishment, the BAMM building is accessible with a ramp at the entry and a new lift,” Ms Dennis said.
“We have also replaced the flooring through the building and upgraded the air-conditioning.
“With these upgrades, the building is looking and feeling better than ever,” she smiled.
BAMM will hold its annual general meeting on Wednesday, December 4 at 5.30pm.
The AGM will include the official receipt of Teena McCarthy’s Kopi in the Mourning to the BAMM Collection.
This significant work is gifted by King & Wood Mallesons Lawyers and senior Aboriginal curator and artist, Djon Mundine, will speak about the work and Teena’s practice.
“We asl people to join us and celebrate all that BAMM has accomplished these last 12 months,” Ms Dennis said.
