Capture the moment: The My Moree photography and videography competition now open

IT’S time to scroll through your phone, computer or photo albums and find your most iconic images of the Moree Plains with the My Moree photography competition now open.

There is $4500 worth of prizes being offered to local and visiting photographers up to the challenge. This year, organisers are also calling on content creators, with the introduction of a new category, videography.

Moree Plains Shire Council encourages entrants to share, create and showcase their vision of the Moree Plains, via the My Moree Facebook page.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to show our pride in our magnificent Shire, through the lens of photography and/or videography. The My Moree photography competition aims to make residents and visitors to the region our best spokespeople, showcasing through their visually unique perspective what they love about life on the plains,” mayor Mark Johnson said.

To enter the competition and be in the running for $4500 worth of prizes, entrants need to upload an image as a ‘mentions’ post to the My Moree Facebook page with the caption “Here is my entry into the 2024 #mymoree Photography and Video Competition in the [insert category], then comment in 25 words or less what #mymoree means to you.

Entries will be judged on both their popularity on Facebook and how well they represent the Moree Plains Shire. Finalists will be exhibited at Shop 16, The Max Centre in October.
