USEDementiaAUS

DEMENTIA Australia will this month offer support in Moree, Narrabri and Gunnedah for residents concerned about memory loss or worried that someone they know may have dementia.

A Dementia Australia team will be in Moree on Monday-Tuesday, October 13 and 14, at Moree Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre.

The team will be in Narrabri on Wednesday, October 15 Narrabri Aquatic Centre and Gunnedah on Thursday, October 16 at The Civic.

A full schedule for all towns is available HERE.

Please note, bookings are essential. Session will provide an overview of the three flagship consumer engagement programs available at Dementia Australia: Dementia Advocates, Connecting Peers and Dementia-Friendly Communities.

It is estimated there are almost 141,800 people living with dementia in New South Wales. Without a medical breakthrough this number is expected to increase to more than 252,800 people living with dementia by 2054.

The Dementia Australia sessions are an opportunity for people living with dementia, their carers, family, and friends to attend free education to better understand dementia and to discuss the support and services Dementia Australia can provide.

The free Brain Hub sessions are available to anyone who wants to learn about dementia, including local residents and health care providers.

Through the information provided and connections formed, the Brain Hubs serve as a gateway to a wide range of Dementia Australia services, giving communities access to long-term, ongoing support and information.

The Brain Hubs are funded by the Federal Government and enable Dementia Australia to reach more people living in regional and remote areas, providing greater equity of access to our services.
