Dipper’s off to Adelaide for national store titles

DIPPER’S Home Timber and Hardware Moree has been named New South Wales group Store of the Year – 12 months after undergoing extensive renovations and expansion.

The new-look Dipper’s, with increased parking for customers and easy access for tradies, was named NSW Store of the Year for Excellence by the Independent Hardware Group.

November 1 marked 12 years since the evolvement of Dipper’s, now a household name in Moree and the wider district, and 12 months since a complete refurbish and transformation.

The award comes on the back of being named NSW Home Timber and Hardware Store of the Year in 2021 and 2022.

In February, 2025, the National Home Timber and Hardware Award will be announced in Adelaide, with Dipper’s representing New South Wales.

Dipper’s last won the prestigious National award in 2014 – after just two years’ trading.

Store principal, Bec Diprose, said 2024 has been a big year for the go-to hardware store.

“The past 12 years have been quite the journey with some huge highs and equally challenging lows but here we are, proudly delivering a beautiful store with expanded ranges to our community,” Bec said.

“The redevelopment was a mammoth undertaking, given we continued to operate seven days a week, and we couldn’t be happier with what we have presented to our community.

“Our biggest problem now is – we have already outgrown some departments and are looking for more space,” she smiled.

Dipper’s recently supported National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, and also hosted its annual trade night, where tradies from across the district meet up with store management and staff, and sales representatives from suppliers.

During October, Dipper’s Home Timber and Hardware joined forces with Independent Hardware Group’s many stores across Australia and supported National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“We are proud to say Dipper’s and our customers contributed $1500 in donations to the cause,” Bec said.

“More impressively, was the massive $338,659 raised together as a group across Australia.  This will enable three more breast cancer nurses to be funded in Australia.”

Also during October, Dipper’s held its annual trade evening.

“This is always a highlight on our calendar,” Bec smiled.

“More than 80 customers and 15 suppliers attended the evening, allowing for an opportunity to share new products and concepts.

“It’s also a fun evening to catch up  with work colleagues around Moree, with some lucky enough to take home some great prizes donated by our valued suppliers.”

Dipper’s is now unwrapping a wide range of products ready to be wrapped again for Christmas.

There is also a big range of Christmas lights and decorations for the festive season.

“A Winter Wonderland display will be set up, showcasing some of the fantastic Christmas lights available,” Bec said.
