Harvest Her Power: A conference and movement empowering women on the land

A team of rural, regional and remote Australians will come together in Dubbo next month to address the challenges faced by women on the land.

Harvest Her Power was founded by Katja Williams, a self-taught media creator who launched The Ultimate Farm Wife  as a podcast, YouTube channel and social media community.

Clinical psychologist, Malinda Guest, a director of Boundless Psychology in Narrabri, is part of the national committee behind the upcoming conference, scheduled for Dubbo on February 23-24.

Born and raised in rural New South Wales, Ms Guest is dedicated to strengthening mental health and wellbeing in rural and remote communities.

She has worked across public and private settings and brings extensive experience supporting adults and couples with concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, substance use and workplace or financial stress.

Ms Guest’s voice and leadership are a driving force behind the conference, a grassroots event created by rural women for rural women.

“I got involved with Harvest Her Power because its goals focus on action,” Ms Guest said.

“From leadership development and safety to connection and enterprise, this committee reflects the strength and contribution of rural women and is led by a community that is authentic, values driven, and deeply invested in impact,” she said.

Ms Guest said Harvest Her Power offers women more than inspiration.

“It provides practical skills, leadership development, and meaningful connection in a safe and supportive space,” she said.

“Women leave better equipped, more confident, and less isolated, with tools they can apply immediately in their lives, businesses, and communities.

“And, let’s be honest, the goodies bags are pretty amazing too. What other conference lets you network, learn, and build genuine connections while watching monkeys play at the zoo,” she laughed.

“I’ll be attending Harvest Her Power because we are stronger together.

“The connections formed and nurtured at this conference will be invaluable, creating a safe space to learn and have meaningful discussions,” she said.

The conference is the only one of its kind in Australia focused on empowering farm wives, partners, and women in family farming businesses.

Workshops range from safety and farm business skills to grief, boundaries, succession planning, and relationships, all grounded in the real experiences of life on the land.

Founder Katja Williams says Harvest Her Power is more than just another agricultural conference – it’s a movement empowering women across the farming sector to grow their confidence, connections, and capability.

She said the two-day event will bring together women from every corner of regional Australia and is designed to provide practical workshops, inspiring keynote speakers, and genuine networking opportunities.

“We’re building something special for the women who are the backbone of Australian agriculture,” Ms Williams said.

“This conference is about equipping women with real skills, emotional resilience, and community connection before the tough times hit, and before the overwhelm sets in.

“Every ticket and every donation makes a real difference,” she said.

“Our goal is to remove barriers for women who want to be part of something that uplifts, educates, and inspires.”

Early bird tickets for the conference are on sale vow at Harvest Her Power Conference.
