AFTER 9/11, Australia sent soldiers from the Special Air Service Regiment to Afghanistan.

More than 25 years later, their suffering continues.

The SAS now tell their story of what really happened in Afghanistan and Iraq in the film, Bravery and Betrayal, which features at a special screening in Moree on Thursday.

Bravery and Betrayal will play at Social Co House on Friday, September 26 from 5pm and feature a 30-minute Q&A with a veteran – Horse – featured in the film and the producer.

Tickets for the Moree screening of this important documentary available HERE.

The film features exclusive, never-before-seen interviews with officers and soldiers of the Special Air Service.

Former Prime Ministers Kevin Rudd, John Howard and Tony Abbott tell for the first time what they knew, and the brave pilots of the American Army reveal what they saw.

Most heartbreaking are the stories told by the wives, mothers, widows and children left behind.

This is their story, in their words, of the SAS in the War on Terror.

The film is intended for adults. Parental guidance is recommended for viewers aged 14 and under due to mature themes.

Bravery and Betrayal contains sensitive material, including themes that may be emotionally distressing or triggering to some viewers, with viewer discretion advised.

Bravery and Betrayal focuses on the bravery shown by troops and the perceived betrayal by senior leadership and media scrutiny following allegations of wrongdoing.

Made by former serving soldiers and funded by donations, the film provides a balanced, authentic perspective on the SAS’s involvement in the War on Terror, and aims to counter negative narratives and support veterans and their families.

Bravery and Betrayal highlights themes of sacrifice, loyalty, and the personal toll of war and scandal on soldiers and their families, and is supported by groups like Wandering Warriors.

The film aims to raise awareness about the plight of SAS veterans and the need for better support systems and encourages accountability from politicians, media, and senior defence leaders regarding the treatment of veterans.

Bravery and Betrayal also acknowledges and honours the bravery and sacrifices of SAS soldiers in Afghanistan and supports veterans and their families by giving them a voice and advocating for their rights.
