It’s Showtime! Two big days of show entertainment planned for Moree

THE 2026 Moree Show springs into action today, with an incredible line-up of entertainment for young and old across two big days.

Headlining events is the Moree Show rodeo, an ABCRA-affiliated event, scheduled to jump from the chutes at 6pm tonight.

The new-look, junior-novice rodeo offers top prize money for emerging stars, as well as two buckles for champion novice saddle bronc rider and champion novice bull rider.

Novice saddle bronc and novice bull ride also each receive $1000 prize money, with junior bull rider for ages 14 to under-18 receiving $500.

The mini bull ride for ages 11 to under-14 is worth $200 and a mini bull ride for ages eight to under-11 offers $150.

Both days feature horse, cattle, wool and poultry sections as well as showjumping and yard dog trials.

The Off the Track event is for thoroughbreds that have raced or barrier-trialled, been pre-trained or underwent race preparations locally, nationally or internationally.

The competition offers $4000 prize money as well as Barastoc products.

Showjumping starts today, with a walk-the-course at 7.30am and competition starting at 8am, and continues tomorrow.

Saturday is jam-packed with entertainment and action, with Noah’s Racing Pigs, muster dog demonstrations with Hudson the border collie, a dog high jump competition, the ever-popular Farmer’s Challenge, a reptile and snake display, tug-of-war challenge and Jetpack entertainment.

Gold Coast-based Jetpack Entertainment & Events, founded by Ritchie Gregg in 2016, is a premier Australian-based stunt team specialising in water-powered jetpack, flyboard and jet ski performances that frequently incorporate pyrotechnics, LED pilot suits, lasers and fireworks.

Noah’s Pig Races showcase trained piglets racing around a 50-metre obstacle course.

The pig races are significant fundraisers, having raised millions of dollars across Australia in recent years for countless charities and fundraisers.

The pet show, at the rotunda in the south-eastern corner of the showground, offers nine classes with ribbons for first, second and third, as well as prizes for reserve and champion pets.

The pet show will take place at 9.30am, Saturday, with marshalling beginning at 9.15am.

Entries for the Ute Show and Shine on Saturday will be taken between 9am and midday tomorrow, with judging between midday and 2pm.

Categories include Best Holden, Best Ford, Best Others, Best BnS, Best Classic, Best Street-Town, Best Chicks, Best Feral, Best 4×4 and Best Tradie.

A presentation will be held at 3.30pm, ahead of the Grand Parade scheduled for 3pm.
