Matt Golinski returning to Glen Innes Gourmet Fiesta

CELEBRITY chef Matt Golinski enjoyed his guest appearance at last year’s Glen Innes Show so much, he’s returning this year on February 14-15 to again share his passion and expertise.

Golinski, known for his regular appearances on the television series Ready Steady Cook, jumped at the chance to again be the star attraction of Glen Innes Show’s Gourmet Fiesta.

The celebrity chef will showcase his culinary skills with cooking demonstrations, help prepare the Fiesta’s famed lunches, and inspire children with his infectious approach to produce and cooking.

On the menu will be a broad selection of local produce including the famous Rangers Valley Cattle Station beef renowned for its exceptional quality, incredible flavour and succulent, juicy tenderness.

Gourmet Fiesta president, Sal Molesworth, said Glen Innes is thrilled to welcome Matt back to the New England district.

“Not only is he a beautiful person, so is his gorgeous family who will be here with him,” she said.

“His organisation, technique and creativity wowed us all (last year) and everyone found his demonstrations tasty, inspiring and so relatable.

“His presence last year left an incredible impression on everyone – from stall-holders to attendees, and especially the school kids who were captivated by his cooking demos and engaging interactions,” she said.

“His inspiration and expertise truly elevated the event, and we’re looking forward to seeing him work his magic again.”

Golinski’s commitment to healthy produce and a positive outlook are legacies of a personal tragedy, in which he lost his first wife and three daughters in a housefire in 2011.

Golinski will present cooking demonstrations, with school children treated to a special demonstration on Friday.

He will also lend the Gourmet Fiesta team a hand with their special gourmet lunches for sale on Friday and Saturday from midday-2pm,

The gourmet lunch this year features mouth-watering Moroccan style slow-roasted Rangers Valley rump, salad of chickpeas and blush tomatoes, fresh minted yoghurt and warm pita bread. Throughout his demonstrations, Golinski will feature produce from some of the market stalls participating in the Gourmet Fiesta.

“Matt’s enthusiasm to return says a lot about the reputation of the Gourmet Fiesta as an event that brings the community together to share a passion for wonderful produce and good food. We are so looking forward to having him,” Sal Molesworth said.
