Moree Rural Fire Service Santa Run Saturday, December 13

MOREE Rural Fire Service has again signed up Santa Claus to take time out from his hectic yuletide schedule and lead the Moree Santa Run this Saturday, December 13.

The Santa Run, with the man in red leading RFS members and volunteers, will commence at 4pm near Stanley Village, before slowly moving across Moree.

Santa will call into key points, including Jacaranda Park at around 4pm before heading to Moree PCYC at 5pm.

At around 5.30pm, Santa and his RFS helpers will be at Lions Park on Greenbah Road before heading back towards town to call into Apex Park on the corner of Edward and Gwydir Streets at about 6pm.

At around 6.30pm, the Santa Run will be at Webb Oval near Moree racecourse.

Moree RFS brigade president Brad McMillan local RFS members have donated time and goodies to hand out as Santa makes his way around Moree.

“The Reject Shop has also donated decorations for our truck so Santa’s ride will be ‘Christmasified’,” Mr McMillan laughed.

“However, the majority of the support has been from the brigade and the members themselves.

“We just didn’t want to miss the opportunity to spread Christmas cheer, so decided to just do it off our own back in lieu of time approaching businesses for support,” he said.

Brigade members will distribute lollies, sweets and small gifts to children as Santa guides them to parklands and ovals in Moree.

“We are grateful to all business that have supported us in the past and hope to rekindle the support in 2026, however we’ve simply run out of time to do so this year,” Mr McMillan said.
