Stepping up for the north-west and joining the region’s future

THE Country Universities Centre North West is inviting passionate locals to put their hand up and help shape the future of the region by joining its board of directors.

Country Universities Centre North West is a community-led organisation with a bold vision to create opportunities through higher education while driving economic and social growth across the north-west.

Since 2019, Country Universities Centre North West has supported more than 700 students in health, education, agriculture, business and beyond, giving them the tools, space and support to study locally and contribute directly back into their communities.

CUC North West chair Letitia Cross said every student supported is an investment in the strength, diversity and resilience of the region.

“We are looking for leaders, thinkers and doers from across the north-west who share our passion for building a vibrant and sustainable future,” Mrs Cross said.

Country Universities Centre North West is seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals who are passionate about regional education, community engagement, or regional development; live in and understand the north-west and its communities; bring local leadership, professional expertise, or lived experience; and can contribute strategically to the growth and community impact of CUC NW

Country Universities Centre North West operates learning hubs in Narrabri and Moree, designed by regional people for regional people.

Students have access to high-speed internet, modern technology, academic support and peer networks, all within their own community.

“The board plays a vital role in ensuring this growth, because when you join the board, you’re not just taking a seat at the table, you’re creating opportunities that change lives,” Mrs Cross said.

“We’ve already seen more than 700 local dreams put in motion. Imagine what we can achieve together by bringing the right voices and skills to the table to further support the future of the North West,” she said.
