World-famous chef Nick Whitehouse back at Maslina for two weeks only

NICK Whitehouse is back in the house.

Michelin Star-rated chef Nick Whitehouse returns to Maslina Bar and Grill in Moree for two weeks only, and will be back at the hotplate from tomorrow, Monday, December 8.

Mr Whitehouse helped launch the opening of Maslina in 2019.

He was back in town in October this year, and returns next week to Moree’s No.1 dining spot as the countdown to Christmas begins.

Originally from the UK, Mr Whitehouse settled in Sydney 16 years ago and worked at Koi Restaurant in Woolwich, Wildfire in Circular Quay and Flying Fish in Pyrmont.

He has appeared on Channel Ten’s MasterChef Australia The Professionals, once cooked for Lady Diana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Slipknot and Kelly Clarkson.

In 2013, MasterChef Australia judge Matt Preston called Mr Whitehouse “a battler, a soldier and a very canny cook”.

“He’s never afraid to take risks and has already blown us away with some of his more adventurous ideas.”

Mr Whitehouse now works as a consultant and freelance food stylist, and has found time away from his hectic schedule to return to Maslina Bar and Grill.

He uses solid cooking techniques, and his understanding of local ingredients to create modern, timeless dishes in line with the seasons is unrivalled.

Australia’s leading personal chef service, At Your Table, says Mr Whitehouse’s “food-obsessive nature makes him strive for perfection at every step, from the idea of a dish to the ingredients, through to the finished meal”.

Maslina Bar and Grill owner Mick Cikota is excited to have Mr Whitehouse back in the house this festive season.

Mick said now is the time to make Christmas bookings.

“We have Nick for the next two weeks, and Christmas party bookings are filling fast,” Mick said.

“I strongly advise everyone to lock in dates and let Nick take their Christmas feast to the next level.”

Whether it’s a staff Christmas party, family gatherings, good friends catching up, or a romantic dinner for two, Maslina Bar and Grill has the festive backdrop and menu to suit all tastes – and for the next two weeks, world-famous chef Nick Whitehouse in the kitchen expertly preparing meals.

“It’s great to have Nick back for a couple of weeks,” Mick said.

“He was here six years ago when we opened Maslina, and again back in October for one week only – this time we’ve got him for two weeks at the busiest time of the year.

“Nick’s final night in the Maslina kitchen will be Saturday, December 20, the day of the big Moree Christmas race meeting,” Mick said.

Diners are encouraged to book early to ensure a table.
