Expressions of interest called for councillor mentors

LOCAL Government NSW is calling for expressions of interest from former mayors and councillors, who are not currently elected officials, to provide mentoring to new and existing mayors and councillors in NSW.

Mentors provide confidential advice and guidance on a variety of issues, including governance, local government reform, conflict management, meeting procedures, relationship management, code of conduct, conflict of interest, and more.

Formal training as a mentor is not required.

Mentors are paid an hourly fee, as well as receive access to LG Learning and Development courses and attendance at the LGNSW Annual Conference without fee.

Mentors will be required to enter a formal arrangement with LGNSW, which sets out the expectations and obligations of each party.

More details and a copy of the agreement can be provided on request.

For enquires or to submit an EOI, please contact Chiara Napoli, LGNSW Legal Officer, at Chiara.Napoli@lgnsw.org.au Applications close on Friday, November 1, 2024.
