MEMBER for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan has welcomed additional funding for level crossings in Uralla and Armidale.
More than $211,000 has been secured for Armidale Regional Council and Uralla Shire Council from the NSW Government’s Level Crossing Improvement Program – Regional Council Minor Works.
Mr Moylan said the funding will see essential safety upgrades and critical minor engineering works done.
“Armidale Regional Council will be able to improve the level crossing road approach at Old Gostwyck Road, as well as widen and upgrade the road,” he said.
“Uralla Shire Council will improve level crossings and carry out resurfacing and line marking at Eastern Avenue and Eastern Avenue South, Wollun Road, Gostwyck Road and Thunderbolts Way.
“This funding tackles serious safety issues which helps protect lives and supports our regional road network.
“These grants will benefit local communities and visitors passing through the Armidale and Uralla regions.”
The Level Crossing Improvement Program – Regional Council Minor Works program will see around $1.7 million spent on 81 level crossings across regional NSW to undergo upgrades and improvements.
