Wee Waa: Man dies after two-vehicle crash

A man has died after a two-vehicle crash north-west of Wee Waa today.

At about 7.50am, emergency services were called to Kamilaroi Highway, about 63km north-west of Wee Waa, following reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a truck and a utility.

The driver of the utility – a man believed to be in his 20s – died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the truck – a 58-year-old man – was not injured and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established as officers attached to Oxley Police District commence an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Kamilaroi Highway is closed in both directions at Merah North, West of Narrabri, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
