Moylan welcomes new police recruits to the region

MEMBER for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan welcomed six new constables to the region at their official induction at Inverell Police Station on Monday.

The six new police officers will start their careers in the New England Police District after eight months of training at the NSW Police Academy at Goulburn.

Two of the new recruits will be stationed at Armidale, two at Inverell and two at Moree where they will spend the next year receiving on-the-job training.

“Congratulations and thank you to the six officers who will begin their careers in the Northern Tablelands,” Mr Moylan said.

“Being a police officer is challenging and I applaud them for taking this path in their professional lives.

“I am sure they will gain invaluable experience and be excellent additions to the communities they will serve and I am sure our local communities will welcome them with open arms.”

The six constables are part of a 298-strong cohort who graduated from the Constable Education Program last week.
